Read Me When (“the app”, “we”, “our”) is built by Build Incredibles. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles, how, and why. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and what we do store stays only on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The app requires no account, no sign-in, and no personal details of any kind to function.

We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or contact details
Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
Your location
Usage analytics or crash reports sent to third-party services
Any information about the verses you read or bookmark

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The app stores a small amount of data in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage) to remember your preferences between sessions. This data never leaves your device.

Locally stored data includes:

Dark mode preference (on/off)
Color accent preference
Show Arabic text preference (on/off)
Haptic feedback preference (on/off)
Your bookmarked verse IDs
Whether you have completed the onboarding flow

You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.

Quranic Content

The Quranic verses displayed in the app use the Saheeh International English translation, which is in the public domain. No external API calls are made to retrieve verse content — all data is bundled within the app itself.

Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. There are no SDKs or libraries present that send your data to external parties.

The only network operation the app may perform is opening an external URL (such as the Play Store for rating, or your email client for support) when you explicitly tap a link.

This website (readmewhen.buildincredibles.com) uses PostHog for anonymous page-view analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected. Page view events are used solely to understand how users discover the app.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from any user, the app is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
